Paul was visiting New York back in January and despite their iconic status he couldn’t recall ever seeing a series of New York cop portraits. Before he knew it he was hanging out of a cop car directing the NYPD where to look. He photographed over 20 cops in 3 days.
ONE THING YOU NEED TO KNOW
He shot them on his mobile phone. Whilst shooting on a mobile phone felt to Paul like going over to the dark side, it was important to the cops to keep it as low key as possible. And it meant he could get his phone into places that other cameras couldn’t go.
